Novy Bor takes lead in European Chess Club Cup 2024, three teams leading in Women’s section

After five played rounds at the 39th European Chess Club Cup 2024, Novy Bor Chess Club emerged as the sole leader of the Open tournament, while three teams tie for the top of the 28th European Women’s Chess Club Cup: TAJFUN SK Ljubljana, SuperChess and Garuda Ajka BSK.

After defeating Tuxera Aquaprofit Nagykanizsai Sakk Klub with a convincing 4.5-1.5 score, Novy Bor Chess Club remained the only team with the perfect score in the Open tournament. Turkish Airlines, Alkaloid and C’Chartres Echecs follow, scoring 9 match points each.

SuperChess Women’s team scored a narrow 2.5-1.5 win over TAJFUN SK Ljubljana to join them on the top, and Garuda Ajka BSK defeated Crvena Zvezda Data Driven Lab with the same result to be in a group of leaders with 8 match points.
